How do I join?
Don’t feel bad if you’ve never been asked to join a Masonic Lodge. After all, we don’t invite men to become members. Why? Because it’s essential that each man who is interested in petitioning a Masonic Lodge for membership does so of his own free will. If you wish to learn more about Freemasonry or request a petition for membership in the world’s greatest fraternal order, the first step is to ask a man who is already a member. Simple enough, right? It is entirely up to you to decide whether, or when, the time is right to join. If you have questions, please contact us.
Avon-Miami Lodge supports its surrounding community through action, such as our annual blood drive with Hoxworth, and by making charitable donations. In 2012, we established a committee to investigate local opportunities for hands-on involvement and to coordinate those projects. In addition to our customary giving, we’ve also made financial contributions this year to non-profit organizations in the Loveland/Symmes Township area where we meet. Avon-Miami Lodge is a place where men of all ages and backgrounds enjoy genuinely good times together, where members gain a greater understanding of what’s important in life, and where fellowship, leadership, and brotherhood take center stage.
Requirements for membership
The Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio specifies that application for membership is open to men who have held residency in Ohio for at least six months, are at least 19 years old, have a belief in a Supreme Being, live a good moral and social life, do not advocate the overthrow of the government, can read and write English, and are recommended by two members of the Lodge they wish to join. If you do not know two members of Avon-Miami No. 542, please contact us to arrange a meeting.
