One meal makes a difference – By providing just one meal you can offer relief and create an opportunity for a person to focus on their well-being. Whether it changes a person’s life or even just their day, your help makes a difference.
Avon Miami Charities was formed in 2017 as a 501c3 charity to fund and coordinate volunteer events to provide meals for people in need.
Our first goal was to provide 4,400 meals in 2018 through our Brown Bag Initiative. We organized quarterly volunteer events creating meals to be distributed through partner organizations such as Lighthouse Youth Services and Talbert House. Thanks to our gracious volunteers we ended 2018 with a meal count of over 6,180!
2019 Updates!
In January 2019, we engaged the volunteer efforts of the Loveland High School Boys Basketball teams to pack 1,500 meals!
Our second quarter event in April with the Mayerson Jewish Community Center netted 1,905 meals.
